Residence Services

Front Desk Services

The front desk is open 24 hours/day to answer questions and address concerns. Access to certain common spaces and items are required to be signed out from the Residence front desk by providing valid photo-identification. Vacuums and plungers are available for use by signing them out at the front desk.

Mail is delivered on weekdays. Letter mail will be placed in your mailbox for pickup at the Davis Residence and at the Trafalgar Residences it will be delivered to your suite each night. If you receive a package larger than your mailbox, it will be held at the front desk and a message will be sent to your email address letting you know that you have a package.

As everything mailed to the residence via Canada Post, including XpressPost, is delivered to the main Sheridan College mail room first before being sorted and distributed to the residence, we recommend sending packages/mail to the residence via a tracked mail service, such as Purolator or FedEx. This will ensure your mail arrives to you as quickly as possible. (The Sheridan College Mail Room typically adds 2-3 days to the mailing process.)

Maintenance Services

Our Maintenance staff takes great pride in ensuring that our building is always meeting our high standards. Our Maintenance staff are very willing to assist with anything in your suite or the building that may be in need of repair. We encourage you to complete a Maintenance Request if you notice anything of this nature in your suite, or to report anything in a common area to the front desk. When tending to maintenance requests, authorized residence staff will enter your suite room (usually between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday unless it is an emergency).

Garbage/Recycling Services

Garbage chutes are located on each floor of the Residence. These chutes are only to be used to dispose of small garbage bags. Please do not put cardboard boxes, over stuffed garbage bags, or other over-sized items down the chute as this could cause blockages. All recyclable items are to be taken to the designated recycling area in your building. Please be kind to the environment and help Sheridan reach our Zero Waste goal. Internet Access

Internet access via Wi-Fi is available throughout the Residence using your Sheridan College credentials. If you have any issue with the internet on campus or in residence, please visit Service Sheridan to view knowledge articles and/or access IT support contacts.

Parking

All students parking on campus must purchase a parking permit. At the Trafalgar Campus, Residents must provide proof of purchase to Residence management to receive a permit identifying their vehicle for the Residence parking lot 1A. Vehicles parked in lot 1A without authorization will be ticketed, booted, and/or towed by Sheridan College Security. Learn more about parking on campus.

Bicycle Storage

Bikes are not permitted within the residence buildings. There are designated storage locations at each residence building where students can securely lock up their bikes. More information will be given to students in respect to their buildings bike storage upon move in, or students can contact the residence if they have specific questions relating to bike storage.

Laundry

Laundry operates using the LaundryCat App that you need to download on your smartphone. Students who do not have a phone that is compatible with the app are able to get a laundry card from the front desk. Please do not overstuff the machines to ensure that issues do not arise while doing laundry. In addition, please clean the lint trap before and after every load in the dryer. Be considerate and do not leave your clothes in the machine past the end of the cycle. Please note that the Residence is not responsible for lost or stolen items of laundry left unattended.

Common Kitchens

You have access to the common kitchen 24 hours a day. Residents are required to stay in the common kitchen while food is cooking, as well as to clean up after they are finished. Kitchen privileges may be revoked should a resident be found to have left food in an oven or on a stove unattended, or if they have left a mess in the common kitchen after use.

Lounges

These are common areas available for use by all residents from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. daily. (Fridays and Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m). Each Lounge offers different furnishings to suit varying tastes. Take some time to explore your new home and see what it has to offer. Absolutely no glass, open drink containers, or alcohol is allowed in any of the common areas. Furniture should not be removed from the Lounges for any reason and the lounge area must be left clean and free from garbage after use.

Allergy Alert

Although Residence cannot provide a fully allergy-free facility, we make a concerted effort to provide allergen zones in designated areas throughout the Residence building. All residents are asked to refrain from bringing common allergens including peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish into areas including lounges, lobbies, kitchens, etc.
