Audiences can expect the best of Broadway and other musical gems at a season of Theatre Sheridan. With performances set to showcase the best of the next generation of theatre performers, much attention should be paid to the professional production of costumes, sets, lighting and sound that accompanies each show.

    Newsies: The Musical

    November 26–December 8, 2019

    Disney’s Newsies: The Musical—the Tony Award-winning Broadway show—is based on the historical newsboy strike of 1899 that shook the ivory towers of William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer.

    February 11–23, 2020

    In the months that precede the outbreak of World War II, American writer Clifford Bradshaw lands in Berlin and soon finds himself at the notorious Kit Kat Klub. There he falls madly in love with the English ex-patriot entertainer Sally Bowles.

    November 29–December 9, 2019

    Guido Contini, a famous Italian film director and ladies man who’s last couple of movies have been panned by the critics is under pressure to make a return to form with his latest film. However, there is one major problem: he hasn’t written a line of the script and has lost all inspiration.

    Based on Damon Runyon’s fabulous stories of Broadway and set in his mythical New York City, this romantic comedy — considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - introduces audiences to a Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson - who have become legendary characters in the musical theatre world.

    Stars of Mars is a new musical comedy set inside the first human colony on Mars, about a mother and daughter who are worlds apart.

    Set in a dystopian future, technological prodigy Max is an ideal student with a bright future until, with a single swipe, he sets out on a journey to forbidden corners of the internet, underground societies, and forgotten parts of himself.

Academic programs

Sheridan offers an innovative learning environment celebrated for academic excellence, applied research and creativity. Alumni perform on stages and work backstage in theatres across the world including on Broadway, in London’s West End and at the Stratford and Shaw Festivals.

Canadian Music Theatre Project

Workshopping new musicals

The Canadian Music Theatre Project was launched in 2011 and is Canada’s first incubator for the development of new musical theatre works by Canadian and international composers, lyricists and book-writers and serves to create a permanent headquarters for the development of new musicals.
