What we offer
Learning Assistants at the Tutoring Centre
Learning Assistants at each Tutoring Centre offer appointment and drop-in tutoring for the following subjects (at no extra charge to you as a Sheridan student):
- Computer Programming
Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Leaders in the classroom
The PAL program provides weekly study hall sessions for students based on course content that the instructor has already covered in class. PAL Leaders review notes, discuss readings, develop study skills and help students prepare for tests and assignments. Sessions are interactive and give you the opportunity to ask questions and check understanding.
PAL Leaders are current Sheridan students recommended by faculty, who have previously completed the course with a grade of 76% or higher.
Peer Tutors *Online during Covid-19*
In extenuating circumstances, a specially hired peer tutor can offer one-on-one tutoring through the digital platform, WebEx. Peer tutoring is available for a fee in courses other than those supported by the Learning Assistants in the Tutoring Centre or through Sheridan’s PAL program. Peer tutors are current Sheridan students who have been selected based on their grades and a faculty reference.
