Grants
Ghassem has Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Communication) from Sharif University of Technology. He furthered his academic pursuits and earned has Masters of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the University of Isfahan, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Computer Vision and Deep Learning) from Ryerson University. Ghassem is currently the Professor of Cognitive Computing and Machine Learning in the School of Applied Computing at Sheridan College.
Ghassem also functions as the Director of Sina Media Lab, and is an instructor of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence certificate programs at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
Previous to his work in post secondary education, Ghassem worked as Research Scientist in Konica Minolta Laboratory U.S.A., Inc. in San Mateo, California, USA, as well as a Senior R&D Engineer at Payam Afzar PeykAsa Co, Tehran, Iran.

- Ghassem’s primary research interests are in Data Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.
