David Binns is a Realtor for Keller Williams Realty in Toronto. He is also a Transformational Performance Coach and has launched his own real estate training program. David began his real estate career with commercial and corporate real estate provider, DTZ Barnicke and Avison Young Commercial Real Estate.

An Oakville native, David distinguished himself at Sheridan, receiving leadership awards from both the national and provincial colleges associations, as well as Sheridan’s Leadership Excellence Award. He was also nominated as one of 25 Leaders of Tomorrow by Macleans Magazine in 2006. Following graduation, David served for two years on Sheridan’s student government as President.

What have you been up to lately?

My work as a realtor now is very exciting. In addition to growing my real estate business, I am responsible for coaching our participants in the Ignite Real Estate Sale Training program at Keller Williams. This led me to develop The Science of Performance – In Real Estate which is distinct in the industry. I apply the exciting research being done on the human brain to my participants. There are no new concepts; rather people ‘transform’ their performance, leaving them naturally producing their intended results.

What was the best lesson you learned at Sheridan?

When you have a vision, particularly for making a difference in the community or your organization, don't let anything or anyone get in the way of it.

What advice would you offer a new business graduate?

Get in touch with what "really" matters to you. I mean, what makes a difference in the lives of your family, friends or even strangers. Avoid all distractions that take you away this focus. That’s when your life and business will explode. Immerse yourself in self-development programs and expand as a person.
