Think you're too young to become an entrepreneur? Think again! This panel is breaking barriers and debunking myths of what it takes to become your own boss! Even if this is not something you think you might need now, it could help prepare you for your future.

Founders, The Olfactory Lab

What started out as a passion project has bloomed into a business that showcases our love for homemade products, quality ingredients, and of course, fragrance.

Meeting in college in 2019, we formed an instant bond and spent most of the school year finding ways to work together. Fast forward a certificate in Public Relations and one global pandemic later, we found ourselves struggling to find inspiration. Through the support of our loved ones, we chose to chase our dreams and become our own bosses. The Olfactory Lab is a creative space where scent meets psychology, and we are hoping you join us on our journey to discover what fragrances inspire you.

Becky Collins, Accounting, 2003

Becky is the co-founder of Dance District, a dance studio based in Oakville, Ont. Becky graduated from Sheridan College in 2003 with a diploma in Accounting, and went on to pursue a successful 13-year career in corporate finance. Launching Dance District in 2016 enabled Becky to tap into her love of dance, while applying her business knowledge in a new way.

Kate is the co-founder of Dance District, a dance studio based in Oakville, Ont. After Kate’s plans to become a professional dancer were derailed when she underwent back surgery in high school, Kate enrolled in Sheridan College’s Business & Marketing program. Through Dance District, Kate is able to use her experience as a dance teacher and channel the marketing skills she picked up at Sheridan.

Chris-Beth Cowie, Leadership Development Series ‘21

Founder, Empowered 4x

Chris-Beth Cowie is a Leading Social Impactor, Mentor, Speaker, Entrepreneurship Instructor-Business Advisor; a dynamic and energetic woman whose mantra, Make a Difference, is the inspiration behind her on-going work in various social and entrepreneurial initiatives.

In 2014 Empowered for Excellence was a reality, an entrepreneurial leadership training company. Chris-Beth wanted to create a space with the sole purpose of empowering entrepreneurs to see the value in themselves and a place to connect and collaborate while creating businesses with an impact focus. Through E4X she has facilitated in over 250 workshops and events, 3500-students have been positively influenced by Chris-Beth since 2014. Presently there are over one-hundred entrepreneurs using E4X space to collaborate, leverage, co-work, co-learn, co-give and co-live; collaborative spaces for co-Social Ventures.

Lauren is the Co-founder of Ace Interview Prep, a communication skills training platform that helps job seekers to feel prepared and confident. She is a previous winner of the Sauga Pitch 2023 and Pitch with a Twist 2023 competitions and is now preparing for Ace's public launch, where the platform will serve thousands of job seekers globally.
