Ali Hassan is a professor of Cybersecurity at the School of Applied Computing, Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Before joining Sheridan College, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, University of Jeddah, KSA, from 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at CIIT Lahore from 2010 to 2012.

Ali earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Government College University Lahore in 2004, followed by a Master's in Wireless Networks and a Ph.D. from Queen Mary University of London, UK.

Ali currently holds the position of Program Coordinator for the Honours Bachelor Cybersecurity degree at Sheridan College. In this role, he is responsible for leading curriculum development, accreditation, and conducting comprehensive program reviews to ensure the program aligns with the needs of the industry and other stakeholder. Moreover, he facilitates Professional Advisory Council (PAC) meetings for the Cybersecurity program, leveraging industry connections to provide strategic input that enhances programming and keeps the curriculum up to date with evolving requirements. Alongside these duties, Ali offers academic advising and support to students, delivering program-specific guidance in response to student requests. He also actively contributes to student engagement activities, including information sessions, orientation sessions, open houses, and recruitment activities, further contributing to the continued success and growth of the Cybersecurity program.
