Laura Kukkee is originally from Toronto, Ontario. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto (1992, BA in Anthropology), the Ceramics program, Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design (1999, studio emphasis in Ceramics), and a former artist-in-residence of the Craft Studios at Harbourfront Centre (1999 - 2002). Laura earned her MFA degree from Kent State University (2004) in Kent, Ohio, USA. From 2004 - 2013, Laura was head of the Ceramics Program in the Department of Art and Gallery Director at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, USA. In 2016, she began working as Professor and Studio Head of Ceramics in the Honours Bachelor of Craft and Design program at Sheridan College. She currently lives in Dundas, Ontario, Canada, with her family.
