Why Creativity Matters to our Health

The Sheridan Elder Research Centre (SERC) is pleased to welcome Susan Perlstein for a special presentation on 'Why Creativity Matters to our Health".  Ms. Perlstein is founder of Elders Share the Arts (ESTA) in New York City, and founder of the National Centre for Creative Aging in the US.  She will be speaking at Sheridan on Thursday, October 28 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in Room J102 at the Trafalgar Road Campus in Oakville.

Susan will discuss the significance of 'creative aging' in relation to everyday life.  She will also present findings from a study she collaborated on which provides evidence of the positive health benefits associated with involvement in arts and cultural programs.  "This presentation has important implications and benefits for everyone," says Pat Spadafora, Director of SERC. "I have had the good fortune to participate in one of Susan Perlstein's workshops and can assure you that her talk will be personally relevant, interesting and informative."
