Take Back The Night

Sheridan to host Take Back the Night event on October 11

Sheridan students from the Social Service Worker and Child and Youth Care programs have partnered with the Sexual Assault and Intervention Services of Halton, the Student Union, and Sheridan’s Centre for Indigenous Learning, to host Take Back the Night 2016.

When:             Tuesday, October 11, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Where:            Marquee Atrium, Trafalgar Road Campus

The evening will feature speakers, music and a pebble painting activity in honour of Rehtaeh Parsons and others who have been impacted by gender-based violence. Attendees will be able to take part in a march around the campus, and to attend a dialogue focused on ending gender-based violence.

Take Back the Night is an annual event that is recognized around the world. The focus is on raising awareness of all forms of violence against women and children. It is estimated that 1 in 3 Canadian women will experience sexual assault in their lifetime. Violence comes in many forms and impacts people from all walks of life.
