Chair: Anne Day 

After graduating from the Family Day Care program in 1980, Anne founded the Oakville Parent Child Centre, which still operates today. Her career accomplishments include heading up several charities and working as an editor for Today’s Parent magazine and a Program Developer for the Ontario government. In 2003, Anne started Company of Women as a way to connect women in business, both professionally and personally. With over 400 members in four chapters across the GTA, Company of Women supports women entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs. The organization produces a national quarterly magazine and published its first book, The Courage to Succeed: Inspiring Stories from Enterprising Women, in 2005. The same year, Anne received the Rotary Centennial Award for Professional Excellence. She is also the recipient of the 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year Award presented by the Oakville Awards for Business Excellence, and has been twice nominated for a Premier’s Award. Anne now works with a charity that provides micro-credit financing to women in developing countries. 

Director, Volunteer Recruitment: Warren Haesler 

Warren graduated from the Sports Injury Management program in 2003 and currently operates Sheridan’s new clinic at the Brampton Campus. He’s not only the Head Technologist for the clinic, but he also teaches in the Athletic Therapy program, while managing his own training business called Fit-Right Training. A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Warren also has a BSc degree, and is a member of several professional associations. 

Director, Networking: Chris French 

After graduating from the Police Foundations program in 2003, Chris was hired by the Region of Peel. He currently works full-time as a Peace Officer and teaches Investigations part-time at Sheridan. Chris is actively involved with several charities including Toys for Tots, and manages his own hockey school on the side! Until this year, Chris coached AAA Hockey as well. Chris’s wife Melissa is also a Sheridan graduate and works as an Officer for the Peel Regional Police Department 

Director, Fund-Raising: Shahla Ambreen 

Shahla came to Canada in 1977 from Pakistan, as a single parent of two children under eight. After graduating from Sheridan’s ECE program in 1999, Shahla worked hard to realize her dream of becoming the Owner and Principal of the Fun to Learn Montessori Childcare Centre, which she opened in 2004 in Streetsville. Shahla opened a second Childcare Centre in Mississauga in 2010. She manages staff at both locations, which have over 60 children registered. 

Director, Young Alumni, Roxanne Williams 

Roxanne is a 2009 Police Foundations program graduate who attended Sheridan as an international student. While at Sheridan, she was a member of the Dean’s council and a Peer Mentor. In addition, she championed a project to make the pond area at the Davis Campus a safe place for her fellow students. She is a mentor to teenage girls through the Iron Joan program, a volunteer for the United Way, and plays an active role in several Peel Police charity initiatives. 

Director, Marketing and Communications: David Mader 

David graduated from the Community Worker – Outreach and Development program in 2004. After graduation, he worked at the Multicultural Centre of Halton Region before joining HBC as their Community Investment Specialist in 2006. David coordinated and executed community investment and corporate fundraising events focused on two annual corporate golf tournaments, one being the largest golf tournament in Canada. Earlier in 2010, he moved to a new role as the Manager of Promotions for Onbrand Designs, a creative branding, packaging and promotional design studio in Toronto.
