Marathon of Hope: The Musical

Time 2:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Location St. Jacobs Country Playhouse , 40 Benjamin Road East, Waterloo, N2V 2J9

This October, join Sheridan Alumni for a performance of Marathon of Hope: The Musical at St. Jacobs Country Playhouse.

Marathon of Hope is a folk musical based on the enduring and heroic story of Terry Fox. After losing his right leg to bone cancer, Terry started a cross-country run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. After 143 days, he was forced to abandon his quest near Thunder Bay because his illness had spread. Although his run was cut short, his legacy lives on. He inspires Canadians to continue his work, and the annual Terry Fox Run has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for cancer research.

Marathon of Hope: The Musical was developed in collaboration with the Fox family and The Terry Fox Foundation. The musical was workshopped through Sheridan’s Canadian Music Theatre Project in 2013 and 2014, and features music and lyrics by Sheridan alumnus John Connolly, with choreography by fellow graduate David Connolly.

Alumni are welcome to join us for a reception and a talkback session with the creative team following the performance.
