“Peter Grevstad is a Professor of Communications, Literary Studies, and Degree Breadth courses. He has a bilingual bachelor of arts (BA, hons) from Glendon College, York University, as well as an MA in English, also from York University. He is currently working toward a doctoral degree from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. The focus of Peter’s doctoral work is multi-spectrum literacies among college-age students in Canada.
Peter Grevstad joined Sheridan in 2006. Before joining the college, he worked in secondary education in The Czech Republic. He also worked in the Kingdom of Thailand at Rajabhat University in Nakhon Pathon, at Silpakorn University in Nakhon Pathom, and at Kasetsart University in Kampaengsaen.  Subsequent to that Peter worked for the Beijing Language and Culture University in the People’s Republic of China.  Next, he worked in The Socialist Republic  of Viet Nam, for the UN and the Canadian aid agency CIDA.  In Viet Nam Peter taught at Vinh University, and also at The University of Danang. Subsequently, he worked with both the University of Technology, Sydney, as well as with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology: both of these teaching positions were in Saigon, Viet Nam. Peter also worked in Japan, at Kansai Gaidai University in Oosaka, for two years.

Peter has given numerous conference presentations. His particular interests are graphic novels and fictions, technology in education, literacy, and English as a Foreign Language.  In 2010 Peter Grevstad published “The Student Writer: editor and critic” with McGraw-Hill Ryerson.”
