Anna Bertosik

Anna Bartosik


As a college professor with over 20 years of teaching experience, Anna Bartosik is in her zone in the classroom.  Her students recognize her as a provocative, animated teacher whose style is unique and engaging.

Her teaching and training experiences include Sheridan College, Humber College, the Dufferin-Peel Separate School Board, LINC programs provided by immigrant service agencies in the GTA, and stints at private language schools in Toronto. She has also offered private consulting for business clients in the private sector for the past ten years. Her clients include Husky Mouldings, Crown Packaging, Panasonic, Schneider Electric, and real estate agents. In 2000, Anna began teaching Business Communications at Sheridan College, and since the fall of 2000, has delivered LINC and ESL classes to international and local students at all levels and skills.

Anna’s active participation in the field of English as a Second Language is demonstrated by her memberships in TESL Ontario, past member of the Peel Halton Etobicoke TESL Executive Committee , serving two years as its monthly newsletter editor, and numerous workshops delivered at the TESL affiliate and provincial levels. She has presented workshops on classroom management, integrating computer skills into language learning, teacher training on job search skills, and incorporating cultural awareness in the classroom.

Anna’s teaching efforts also extend to curriculum development, job training workshops,  and starting  and delivering government language programs ,which included client outreach, site development and design, and follow up.

As an active member of the local community, Anna Bartosik has provided her time as a translator to immigrants and refugees, volunteered at various local schools in the All-Star reading program, and delivered heritage language classes. Her interests include horticulture and reading.

She is currently a professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Communication and Literary Studies, ESL Department.
