Lisa Zingaro

Professor, Finance

Lisa’s chief goals are to help her students to understand the world of finance and to become “job-ready” through the exercise of good interpersonal, communication and professional skills. She expects that reliance on her network of practitioners, combined with her rigorous academic training and work experience, will support Sheridan’s students in their pursuit of an education, as well as personal and professional fulfillment.

Lisa holds a PhD in finance from the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill. Lisa first taught corporate finance at the University of North Carolina while a graduate student. Before completing her dissertation, she taught at The University of North Carolina @ Wilmington, Bentley College and Suffolk University. In Boston, a hub of “buy-side” financial activity, she taught Chartered Financial Analyst designation preparatory courses for the Boston Securities Analysts Society.

After earning her PhD, Lisa enjoyed a career in business where she worked in finance, audit and consulting for small and large, and local and global companies. She’s held positions from assistant controller at a small $25M USD cold storage company to Senior Director of Operational Audit at Siemens, one of the world’s largest companies with an enterprise value of over $118B USD.

Lisa is a longtime member of Financial Executives International where she serves on one of its advisory boards. This organization affords her the opportunity to engage with other finance professionals helping her stay up to date with an ever-changing profession.
