Karen A. Booth

Professor, Marketing

Karen is a Marketing Professor at Sheridan College where she teaches courses that include Sales Account Management, CRM and Management & Leadership. She is also an Event Coach for the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition. 

With over 20 years of experience in both entrepreneurial and large enterprise organizations, Karen has held senior positions across multiple disciplines including Client Services, Project Management, Marketing & Sales, Operations and Technology. 

Karen was partner/owner of Exceleration Business Performance where she provided strategy and project management services for marketing and sales focused campaigns. Clients included McDonald's, Psion Teklogix, CX Interactive, Aliant, Westcon Group and the Chamber Music Society of Mississauga.  

She was also Vice-President Client Delivery for DECOSTA Marketing leading teams that included Project Management, Graphic Design, Animation and Web Development.  She focused on the execution of marketing and communications plans for a variety of clients including Sony PlayStation, YMCA of Canada, Blistex, Primus Business Services, INC. & Fast Company Magazine and Shaklee Corp.  

As a Director at Bell Canada, she gained extensive knowledge running Call Centers, Sales & Service Operations, and Project Management teams.  Karen was instrumental in the creation of an Emerging Technologies team which focused on the design and implementation of complex Contact Centre and IP Telephony applications for the enterprise business market.  She was selected by Cisco Systems to be the first Canadian distributor to participate in their Partner Enablement Process as a result of the IP Telephony expertise built within her team.

Karen graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Business Degree and a Marketing & Retail Diploma. She successfully completed the Queen’s University Advanced Executive Certificate in General Management and has her MBA from the Edinburgh Business School through Heriot-Watt University.

She volunteers as a Board Member of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra which performs out of the Living Arts Centre and is a Career Day volunteer at her local Middle School. She was also the Fundraising Chair at Meadowvale Village Public School for 3 years.   

Karen grew up in Toronto and has lived in Mississauga for 20 years.
