Ramin Ghalati

Ramin Ghalati

Professor, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology

Ramin Ghalati earned his BEng in Civil Engineering and MSc in Theoretical Physics from Shiraz University, and went on to complete his PhD in Applied Mathematics (Theoretical Physics) at Western University. In 2012 Ramin joined Sheridan College as Professor, Mathematics for Engineering and Science for the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology.  He has since been involved in teaching and leading the education of math and the development of math and physics curriculum in the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and also acts as Math Advisor.

Ramin’s primary area of research is in mathematical physics. In particular, he has performed research in particle physics, constrained dynamics, Hamiltonian formulation of gauge field theories and quantum gravity. Utilizing his background in engineering, science and math, Ramin is also involved in industrial projects at Sheridan.
