Haya El Ghalayini

Haya ElGhalayini

Professor, School of Applied Computing

Haya ElGhalayini received her PhD in computer science from University of the West of England, Bristol-UK. Her PhD was in the area of reverse engineering bioinformatics ontologies to conceptual data models.

Haya has published number of conference and journal papers related to the field of ontologies, conceptual modelling, social network analysis, project-based learning, and designing e-Learning contents.

Prior to Sheridan, Haya was an assistant professor at Petra University, Jordan, teaching introductory and advanced courses in computer science and software engineering. In addition to teaching, she has participated in different administrative work in the Faculty of Information Technology where she led projects to engage students in information technology departments and to participate and volunteer in community services.

She has worked at McMaster University as a sessional instructor for teaching: principles of programming languages and data structures and algorithms courses.
