Michelle has 9+ years of professional nursing experience. Her nursing background includes: Acute Paediatric Respiratory Care, Adolescent Medicine and Psychiatry, Clinical Support Nurse, and Clinical Instructor. Michelle earned her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from the University of New Brunswick/Humber College Collaborative program. She then went on to complete her Master of Nursing from Ryerson University with a focus on Leadership in Education and Health Policy.

Philosophy of Teaching

Michelle greatly believes that her students attain knowledge from all aspects of their lives and incorporates these vast experiences into her teaching. This makes her mindful in the classroom, being able to apply relevant theory to practice by converging on all aspects of her student’s knowledge. Michelle values being engaging, compassionate, influential, non-judgmental, and approachable, a great communicator, and an amazing listener to her students. Ultimately, Michelle uses these values as the foundation of both her teaching philosophy and nursing care.

Teaching and Other Interests

Mental Health, Pharmacology, Nursing Care, Paediatric Care and Family Care Nursing. Other interests include: curriculum development, program development and generating strategies for decreasing student attrition.
