Administration & Governance

Sheridan College is a publicly-funded institution overseen by a Board of Governors, consisting of both appointed and elected representatives. The day-to-day administration of the institution is led by the President and CEO, and an Executive Team.

Office of the President

Student success is at the heart of what we do. From comprehensive student services to dedicated faculty and hard-working staff, our mission is to ensure that our students graduate with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.


The Chancellor, who is appointed by the Board of Governors, serves as the ceremonial head of Sheridan, presiding over convocation ceremonies and serving as an ambassador for the institution.

Hazel McCallion was formally installed as Sheridan's inaugural Chancellor in June 2016.

Board of Governors

The Board of Governors establishes appropriate governance and risk-management strategies to ensure Sheridan’s strategic objectives and outcomes are met, its assets are protected, and its long-term growth and sustainability are assured.

Sheridan Senate

Sheridan Senate approves Academic Policies and presents Academic Programming recommendations to the Board of Governors through the Academic and Student Affairs Committee of the Board.

Corporate Reporting

Sheridan produces annual reports on issues of accountability, financial statements, and business plans.

Key Performance Indicators

Sheridan uses the KPI Student Satisfaction Survey to measure how well it meets the needs of students and the marketplace.

Policies & Procedures

Sheridan’s Academic Policies and Procedures are developed to guide decision-making within the institution.

VP Finance & Administration

The Office of the Vice-President Finance and Administration supports financial services, information technology, plant, building construction, corporate planning, security, student safety, and sustainability throughout all campuses.

Provost & VP Academic

The Provost and Vice-President Academic provides support and leadership to the academic community at Sheridan.

Office of General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel provides advice to Sheridan on a broad scope of matters arising throughout the institution, including strategic support of Sheridan's mission and priorities.

Student Union

The Sheridan Student Union is an organized body that represents the full-time and part-time students of Sheridan College.

Freedom of Speech Policy

Sheridan has adopted a new policy affirming that freedom of expression is essential and that colleges are places that allow for open discussion and free inquiry while maintaining respectful discourse and debate.

College Council

College Council is a democratically elected body in the college system that promotes communication and consultation within Sheridan and provides a forum for staff and students to communicate with the President.

Sheridan Integrated Planning

At Sheridan, the Integrated Planning function supports strategic decision-making by providing a comprehensive view of resources and commitments to ensure the alignment of resources with strategic and academic priorities.
