Sheridan is closed on January 17, 2022 due to severe weather conditions. All on-campus classes are cancelled and facilities are closed. Virtual classes, online meetings and online activities will continue as scheduled.

Sheridan offers full-time, intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for students who want to improve their English skills for personal, professional or academic reasons.

The highest level, English for Academic Purposes (EAP) can provide students with a conditional acceptance into a diploma, degree or post-graduate certificate at Sheridan.

Program Features

  • 5 levels of instruction: Foundation, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced and EAP
  • Each of the first four levels consists of an A and B module
  • Each session in the first four levels is 7 weeks (25 hours/week)
  • EAP is 14 weeks (22 hours/week)

Level Placement

Students are placed in an appropriate level of ESL based on their level of English proficiency. Students can choose to either submit a valid TOEFL or IELTS score before arrival, OR write the Sheridan ESL Placement test upon arrival.
