You're Invited: Community-Wide 50th Anniversary Celebration

Time 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Location Trafalgar - Outside of SCAET, 1430 Trafalgar Road, Oakville

On Monday, October 2 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, Trafalgar Campus will host a 50th anniversary celebration event, outside of SCAET, which is open to all students, employees, and members of the Oakville community.

During the event, we’ll officially unveil our new Sheridan Medicine Wheel Garden and play host to the Colleges Ontario traveling exhibit on the history of the college sector.

We’ll also be showcasing the outputs of the SRCA Growth Grant awarded to Dr. Peter Kikkert and Dr. Christian Knudsen – which include panels that capture the public history of Sheridan (the first few of which were on display at the Welcome Back event) and the premier screening of a new social documentary of Sheridan, based on interviews with alumni, employees and special guests.

Following official remarks and the Medicine Wheel unveiling at 11:00 am, a BBQ lunch will be served at 11:30 am to the first 500 guests to arrive.

Film screenings run at 12:00 pm and 12:45 pm in J102.

The event will bring Sheridan’s 50th anniversary celebrations to Trafalgar Campus, following our kick off at Davis Campus on January 17 hosted by Ontario Lieutenant Governor, the Honorable Elizabeth Dowdeswell and the March 24 event at HMC B wing, which consisted of a book give-way and signing by Chancellor Hazel McCallion.
