Hadis Fetic
Pilon School of Business
Degree: Business Administration - Finance
Year of graduation: 2012
No Risk, No Reward
Hadis Fetic moved from Bosnia to Canada following the war in 1996. Moving around Ontario he found a home in Burlington, Ontario. Initially attending Brock University for Business Administration, Hadis decided to transfer to Sheridan to study finance because of the college’s location, friendly atmosphere and bridge programs.
In his third year at Sheridan, Hadis took advantage of an opportunity to travel abroad as part of a teaching and internship program in Turkey. He taught English, completed a business internship and eventually travelled to other parts of the world. Upon returning to Sheridan to graduate, Hadis followed another road that opened doors for him. The co-founder of ABC (Association of Balkan Canadians), he was hired upon graduation to work for FEBA (Federation of Balkan American Associations) in Chicago, IL. A few weeks after graduating, Hadis moved to Chicago to run education seminars, internships, community engagement, government outreach and many other aspects of FEBA as the Director of Operations.
While working full-time, Hadis went back to school to receive his degree in Business Management from Robert Morris University. He then received a scholarship to pursue a Masters in Human Resource and Organizational Development at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
Currently, Hadis is working at the Niagara Foundation in Chicago as the Program Director and Intern Supervisor. In addition to managing 15 interns from various areas, he focuses on developing relationships between government, universities and community leaders as well as creating corporate partnerships.
Hadis advises new business grads “to take risks that may be scary but can lead to success. By combining risk taking with your education, you are bound to make an impact wherever you choose to go.”
