Silva joined the Pilon School of Business as a full-time professor of Mathematics in August 2018. She brings over fifteen years of teaching and research experience across both secondary and postsecondary institutions in the Greater Toronto Area.

Before her current role, Silva taught at Sheridan’s Faculty of Applied Science & Technology as a partial-load professor from 2017 to 2018. Her academic experience also includes teaching positions at York University, as well as in the Peel and Halton District School Boards.

Silva holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Biology, a Bachelor of Education, a Master’s in Applied Mathematics, and a PhD in Applied Mathematics—all from York University. Her graduate research focused on the application of mathematical models in Molecular Biology.
