Mary is a Registered Educator member of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario. (ARIDO) She is also NCIDQ certified. Through her career in Interior Design, Mary has garnered a wealth of experience in Corporate Office, Hospitality, Health Care, Retail and Residential design. Mary has twenty-six years of post-secondary teaching experience, and is a full-time professor with the Faculty of Animation, Arts & Design at Sheridan College. She teaches courses in the Interior Design, Interior Decorating and Visual and Creative Arts programs. Mary holds a Master of Arts in Art History, and a Bachelor of Education, both from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Interior Design from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Mary was the 2016 recipient of a generous scholarship from the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies.
Teaching Interests
- Mary’s current teaching interests include the incorporation of non-Western perspectives in Art and Design History, and optimizing student engagement while teaching in the online environment.
Research Interests
- Mary’s current research interests include Indigenous Studies and Global perspectives in Art and Design History.
