Kris Howald has over two decades of experience in animation and visual effects, complemented by a teaching career that began in 1999 at Sheridan College. A graduate of Sheridan’s renowned Classical and Computer Animation programs, Kris has contributed to projects such as Transformers: Beast Wars, station IDs for YTV, Teletoon, and Disney's Jetix, and commercials for brands like Gatorade, Expedia, and Coke Zero. His work reflects a balance of technical expertise and artistic creativity.
Since 2006, Kris has been a full-time Professor at Sheridan’s Postgraduate Computer Animation program, where he now serves as Program Lead. He fosters a collaborative and innovative learning environment, integrating foundational animation principles with the latest technologies. His research and teaching often intersect with digital heritage projects, such as the El-Hibeh temple reconstruction and the Huron-Wendat Longhouse initiative. Through his work, Kris continues to support students in developing the skills and adaptability needed for the ever-evolving animation industry.
