Sean McNabneySean McNabney serves as Interim Provost and Vice President, Academic at Sheridan, a role he assumed in March 2026. With more than twelve years of progressive academic leadership at Sheridan, in addition to his tenure as a faculty member beginning in 2008, Sean brings deep institutional knowledge and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student success.

Prior to his current appointment, Sean served as Vice Provost, Academic Excellence and Transformative Learning, where he supported academic quality, forward‑thinking pedagogy, and transformative learning initiatives across the institution.

He also held the role of Interim Dean, Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design from 2020 to 2021. Earlier in his career at Sheridan, Sean served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, following six years as Associate Dean in the same faculty. Across these leadership roles, he provided strategic leadership in support of faculty excellence, program development, and student achievement.

Sean’s extensive experience reflects a sustained dedication to Sheridan’s academic mission and institutional priorities, contributing to the advancement of high‑quality programs and a strong academic community. Across his tenure at Sheridan, he has been an active leader in advancing the college’s commitments to equity and access, as well as creativity and innovation.

Sean earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English Literature from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University).

    Professional Advisory Councils offer Sheridan a unique strength in postsecondary education. Successful Professional Advisory Councils provide strategic advice and input in the program review process and help the College respond to changing academic, business and industry requirements. Professional Advisory Councils help ensure that our programs stay relevant to the needs within the community and anticipate future trends. Their perspective assists us to ensure that new and existing programs are relevant and curricula are up to date so that graduates will possess the skills and competencies required by employers in the current and future labour markets.
