For details on how Sheridan programs will be delivered in upcoming semesters, please review our Fall 2022 Program Delivery Modes.
Businesses rely on accountants to monitor their performance, compliance and financial health. Your first year will involve common curriculum shared by all business administration students, providing you with an understanding of how companies work. Topics of study include communications, finance, human resources and marketing — all areas of business you’ll impact as an accountant.
Study advanced accounting principles that aren’t covered in our two-year Business Accounting program! In your final year, you can master skills essential for employment in the field’s more demanding positions. Choose from a broad selection of electives, including courses in tax, auditing, budgeting, business analysis and financial statement preparation.
Enjoy the opportunity to earn while you learn! All advanced diploma students have the option of gaining more than 1,000 hours of work experience through a co-op work term. Co-op is a competitive program and you’ll need to meet certain academic requirements to participate. Connections you build during your work term may lead to employment opportunities after you graduate.
Sheridan’s accounting professors are actively involved in the industry, presenting at conferences and contributing to publications of accounting textbooks and articles. Many also hold the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation and maintain strong ties with the business community, which may assist you with obtaining a co-op work term.
Interested in pursuing your Chartered Professional Accountant designation? As a graduate of this program, you could be just two years away from obtaining the degree you’ll need for entry into the CPA’s Professional Education Program (PEP). Our Degree Completion program allows you to apply your diploma credits towards the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting degree. You’ll also have earned up to 15 credits towards your Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification.
This program meets the educational prerequisite needed for entry to the Canadian Marketing Association's (CMA) Chartered Marketer program.
All courses in the first and second year of Sheridan’s Business Administration – Accounting advanced diploma program are offered at both our Davis Campus in Brampton and our Hazel McCallion Campus (HMC) in Mississauga. Third-year courses are taught exclusively at HMC.

Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses).
Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for this program will be assessed and advised individually and may be considered for other, related programs.
Business students who have successfully completed one or two years of their program can easily transfer their credits to another college in the province. A system-wide agreement is in place at Sheridan and other colleges, permitting students to transfer among all college business programs across Ontario. The agreement means that business students in programs such as Business General, Human Resources, Accounting and Marketing will receive full credit for their completed courses. Given the high enrolment of business programs, these pathways provide additional flexibility for a significant number of students. Interested students should apply at ontariocolleges.ca using the appropriate program entry level at the new college. For more information, email infosheridan@sheridancollege.ca
All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Sheridan’s English proficiency requirements.

Students enter this program in either the Co-op or non-Co-op program. Continuation in the Co-op program is conditional on maintaining the established minimum required academic standard. The program-specific academic standard required for participation in Co-op can be found here: Academic Standards for Co-op and Internship. If there are seats available, students in the non-Co-op program may have the opportunity to apply to the Co-op program at the end of first year. This would be a competitive process with limited seats available. Students in the Co-op program are eligible to complete three Co-op work terms prior to graduation.
Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experience within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.
Students receive in-class and 1-on-1 career education support to help prepare for the work term. The Co-op component is delivered by Sheridan’s Co-operative Education Office, which facilitates over 1,800 Co-op/Internship work terms per year Sheridan-wide.

In our Honours Bachelor of Computer Science program, you'll learn foundational skills that prepare you to work in any area of computer science. But you’ll also have the chance to specialize in one of four emerging fields that interests you the most.
In the first year of the program, you’ll be introduced to each of these four fields: cloud computing, data analytics, game engineering, and network engineering.
Then, you’ll focus your studies on your selected specialization. You’ll take eight courses in your specialization of choice, gaining specific skills that are not taught in traditional diploma and degree programs. Your computer science specialization will give you a competitive advantage when you graduate.
Get a deeper understanding of cloud computing — the delivery of computing system resources such as software, databases, servers, data storage, and more — over the Internet. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of private, hybrid or public cloud delivery.
Learn how to apply statistical analysis, data mining and other advanced techniques to draw new and useful insights from large data sets. Confidently interpret and share information about the data patterns you discover.
Master the algorithmic, programming and mathematical techniques used to develop software components for computer games.
Learn the specialized skills needed to plan, construct, optimize and manage the computer networks that businesses and organizations rely on every day.
