Tim Dashwood Joins Apple

Tim Dashwood (Media Arts ’95) has joined Apple. The 3D and VR plugin developer has also made his existing products free. He has created video editing products that blur faces, or can be used to make 360 videos.

StoryBots Wins Daytime Emmy Award

Congratulations to Nikolas Ilic (Bachelor of Animation ’11) who, in late April, won a Daytime Emmy Award for his part on the team that works on the hit Netflix children's series Ask the StoryBots and its accompanying web-based content and mobile apps.

Wild Archaeology nets award

The Wild Archaeology series, written, directed and produced by alumna and Sheridan professor Tracy German (Media Arts ’95), has been recognized with the Public Communications Award from the Canadian Archaeological Society. The Award will be presented in Ottawa in May.

Alumna becomes certified speaking professional

In May, Charmaine Hammond (Correctional Worker ’85) earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from the National Speakers Association, an American body that confers the CSP on individuals who have met its strict criteria. Hammond is an international bestselling author, keynote speaker, expert in conflict resolution and mediation, and a social entrepreneur. As President of Hammond International Inc. she works with organizations to resolve conflict and build leadership and resilience skills.

Katie Edwards (Music Theatre ’08) has pulled together a group of Canadian women to celebrate music this June in Everybody’s Got a Story, a concert featuring the music of Canada’s most influential and powerful voices. Fellow alumna Michelle Bouey (Music Theatre ’12) will also be performing in the Toronto concert.
