Jonathan Filipovic

Jonathan Filipovic is the current Coordinator of English and Literary Studies at Sheridan College where he has taught since 2005. He previously received a Master's degree from Concordia University in Montreal and a Bachelor's degree from Trent University, both in English Literature. In Jonathan's time at Sheridan he has developed multiple literary studies courses including Science Fiction & Futuristic Narratives, the Gothic in Western Imagination and Adaptation: From Text to Film (with Lisa MacKay) at the Degree level, and has developed Demons, Monsters & Magical Warrior Princesses and Villains in Fiction and Film for the General Education department at the diploma level. Jonathan has also served as interim General Education coordinator, and participated in several committees including the Faculty Forum Group and the Local Academic Council. His main interests are science fiction, comics and what the future of education will look like with the emergence of artificial intelligence.
