Prem Parashar

Prem Parashar is a professor of Applied Computing at Sheridan College. He has completed his PhD (Computer Science) from Himachal Pradesh University, India. He has more than 15 years of experience teaching computer-oriented courses to graduate and postgraduate students. He has a remarkable record of teaching international students.

Prem’s area of research is software engineering in general, and software testing in particular. His research findings have been accepted and appreciated broadly. He has served as PC member of several Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) international conferences, and as a reviewer of international journals, including the International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering (IJSEKE), the International Journal of Science and Engineering (IJSE), and World Applied Sciences Journal (WASJ). He is an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and the Ontario Society for Professional Engineers (OSPE).

Prior to joining Sheridan College, Prem served as program director at EPIC College of Technology in Mississauga. He designed three diploma programs – Software Developer, Quality Assurance & Software Testing, and Web Development – which were approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in record time.

At Sheridan College, Prem mainly teaches web-oriented courses like Web Design, Web Development 1, Web Technologies, Web-Based Application Development for Mobile Devices, and Interactive User Interface Design. He has also guided many students in the successful completion of their web-development projects. Prem strongly believes that every student possesses incredible learning potential, and that if provided a favourable learning environment, a student can perform beyond the limits.
