John Kneller graduated from the University of Toronto, Cinema Studies program in 1988. His later studies were at York University, leading to an MFA in film production in 2007. The trilogy of experimental films Continuum was a part of his resulting thesis. The films have screened at numerous film festivals in Canada, the United States, Europe, South Korea, and Syria. He has long been an optical printing specialist. Recently, the emphasis in his films has shifted towards a digital synthesis of motion control, animation, and time-lapse cinematography. John currently teaches film full-time at Sheridan College in the Bachelor of Film and Television program. He still practices freelance specialized optical/digital printing with clients such as the CFMDC, Atom Egoyan, Nicholas Ponti, Daichi Saito, Echo Park Film Center, Phil Hoffman, and Alexandre Larose. He has been involved most recently in teaching engagements at Film Universities and Institutes in China.
