New faces at the Centre for Elder Research in honour of our 19th anniversary!

We are thrilled to be celebrating our 19th anniversary by opening our physical doors again and welcoming members of the community back to CER live and in-person!

This is also our opportunity to welcome Dr. Karen Slonim to the CER team! She is a medical anthropologist, health educator, scholar and teacher who has tremendous respect for the knowledge and wisdom held by our older adults. To this end, she strives to base her research in collaborative knowledge generation through co-creation with seniors. More of her most impressive biography can be found on our Research Team page, and we are so excited for the opportunity to learn from, and work with, her. Don't hesitate to reach out to say hello or explore potential projects ideas with her; Karen can be reached at karen.slonim@sheridancollege.ca

We also have the opportunity to welcome an entirely new Advisory Board this academic year. Their biographies can also be found on our Research Team page and we are grateful to them all for their contribution to our work.

As we look ahead to our 20th anniversary in 2023, there will be a variety of opportunities for members of the Sheridan community to contribute to our strategic planning and goal setting for our third decade of research in the field of aging – stay tuned to learn more, and please do consider participating in those opportunities when they are launched.

Thanks to everyone at Sheridan for your support over the past 19 years – cheers to our upcoming milestone!
