Sheridan launches partnership with Centro to offer new digital advertising curriculum
Sheridan’s Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies (FCAPS) has partnered with Centro, a Chicago-based digital advertising company, to deliver leading edge digital media courses to students in the Faculty’s Digital Marketing Management program. This month, FCAPS is launching the Programmatic Advertising course, providing students with the opportunity to have hands-on training, using real-life case studies and actual campaign optimization.
“We are excited to collaborate with Centro in bridging the gap in Digital Media education for marketing professionals, by providing both theory and hands-on intensive training utilizing programmatic advertising platforms for the first time in Canada,” said Has Malik, Dean of FCAPS.
The programmatic advertising classes are taught by seasoned professionals from Centro’s training team. The coursework offers practical, hands‐on, real‐world training where students will utilize Centro DSP as the tool for practice and testing. This is part of Sheridan’s efforts to meet the changing needs of students and emerge as the institution of choice for Digital Media and career‐related education.
“We take pride in being the first educational institution in Canada to offer cutting edge digital media curriculum for programmatic advertising, a rapidly expanding career field,” said Hayder Sultan, programmatic media project lead at Sheridan. “We’ve observed agencies and brands struggle with the talent gap in this sector and we identified Centro, with its long‐standing experience and success in digital media, as an ideal partner to enhance the educational opportunities for students interested in this professional field.”
The programmatic advertising course offered by Sheridan’s Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies will help students develop the fundamental knowledge and skill needed for the effective buying and selling of digital ad placements in real‐time. The course blends face‐to‐face and online components and is part of Continuing and Professional Studies’ Digital Marketing Management program. It is structured to provide action‐oriented baseline knowledge that complements industry‐led digital advertising workshops focused on theory and concepts. More information is available here.
