Student Creativity is Showcased at Sheridan Year-End Shows

As the end of the school year fast approaches for Sheridan students, a number of programs are showcasing their best work with exhibitions at locations across the Greater Toronto Area. Below are some of the highlights of this year’s shows that are open to the public.

Art and Art History Graduate Exhibitions, March 16 to 27 (Group 1) and March 30 to April 10 (Group 2)

  • This joint program with the University of Toronto Mississauga blends theoretical study with studio practice. Students work across a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, print media, design and photography. 
  • Location: Blackwood Gallery, University of Toronto Mississauga

Bachelor of Interaction Design: IXD Futures, March 18 to April 1

  • This multidisciplinary program cultivates a big-picture perspective and diverse set of skills and is the first of its kind in Ontario. The IXD Futures graduate exhibition is the first public display of Sheridan student work in the emerging field of Interaction Design.
  • Location: Sheridan Gallery, Trafalgar Campus in Oakville

Bachelor of Craft and Design - Ceramics: 'Curio' Graduate Show, April 2 to 14

  • Curio, an exhibition of work by the graduating class from Sheridan's Ceramics program will be on display during gallery hours. Water Carriers, work by Jordan Scott, the 2015 Sheridan Graduate Show award winner, will also be on display in the lobby.
  • Location: Gardiner Museum, 111 Queen's Park in Toronto

Bachelor of Craft and Design: Furniture Studio Exhibition, April 8 to 15

  • This exhibition of work by students in the Furniture program seeks to investigate the relationships between body, space and need, as students respond in their own unique manner to the specific constraints of each course project.
  • Location: Sheridan Gallery, Trafalgar Campus in Oakville

Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance: Grand Hotel, The Musical, April 12 to 24 and Sunday in the Park with George, April 14 to April 24

Bachelor of Illustration Grad Show, April 15

  • The fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Illustration program will be showcasing their traditional illustrative and digital media works at this one-day graduate exhibition.
  • Location: 99 Gallery in Toronto

YSDN Bachelor of Design Grad Show “The Intermission,” April 19

  • The Bachelor of Design program is offered in partnership with York University. It combines practice and theory and emphasizes innovation, creativity and strategic thinking as applied to visual communication. “The Intermission” featuring graduating students is open to the public from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Location: Artifacts Room, Liberty Grand in Toronto

Art and Art History Open House, April 22 to 23

  • Sheridan’s Art and Art History program will be hosting an Open House Event showcasing student work in each of the following disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture, print media, design and photography.
  • Location: Annie Smith Centre, Trafalgar Campus in Oakville

Bachelor of Craft and Design Graduate Exhibition, April 29 to May 6

  • The Bachelor of Craft and Design degree program includes students concentrating their studies in Glass, Ceramics, Furniture and Textiles. The graduates of each area of study will be displaying their work at this exhibition.
  • Location: Sheridan Gallery, Trafalgar Campus in Oakville

Bachelor of Photography Grad Show “57 Voices,” May 4 to 5

  • Sheridan’s Bachelor of Photography program offers a professional photography education with an emphasis on the conceptual, technical and aesthetic possibilities of the medium. “57 Voices” features the work of the students in the program’s graduating class.
  • Location: 99 Gallery in Toronto
