
Series directed by Sheridan graduate wins International Emmy Kids Award
Children’s series Mike The Knight, directed by Sheridan animation alumnus Charles (Ted) Bastien has received a 2015 International Emmy Kids Award.
A Canadian-United Kingdom co-production of Nelvana Limited and Hit Entertainment, Mike The Knight was recognized by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the Kids: Preschool category. Mike the Knight centres on the magical adventures of Mike and his sister Evie who live in the Kingdom of Glendragon.
Bastien, who graduated from Sheridan’s renowned classical animation program in 1983, is one of many talented Sheridan alumni who power Nelvana, a world leader in children’s animation. Nelvana is part of Canada’s media titan Corus Entertainment which is headquartered in Toronto. Mike The Knight airs in North America on Nick Jr. and Treehouse. Bastien began his animation career with Nelvana soon after graduation and his early work includes the animated series Beetlejuice, Babar and Little Bear.
The 3rd International Emmy Kids Awards were presented on February 20, 2015 in New York City.
