
Eight Teams Vie for Supremacy at the OCAA Basketball Championship at Sheridan
Sheridan College is hosting the 2014 belairdirect Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Basketball Championship, beginning today and running through Saturday, March 1.
Over the course of 12 games, eight teams will compete for the OCAA gold medal and title, including the Sheridan Bruins who are looking to defend their provincial win from 2013.
The OCAA quarter-finals will take place on Thursday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. Teams that are defeated will participate in the bronze medal quarter-finals on Friday, followed by the OCAA semi-final matches. The bronze medal semi-finals and final will take place on Saturday as will the OCAA gold medal match.
The OCAA champion advances to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball National Championship, taking place in Squamish, B.C. next month.
Competitors include: Algonquin Thunder, Durham Lords, Fanshawe Falcons, George Brown Huskies, Humber Hawks, Mohawk Mountaineers, Seneca Sting, and the Sheridan Bruins.
