
Celebrating National Seniors Day Today and Every Day at Sheridan College

October 1 is International Day of Older Persons

The United Nations has designated October 1 as International Day of Older Persons, a date that is also recognized in Canada as National Seniors Day. For the past ten years, the Sheridan Elder Research Centre (SERC) at Sheridan College has conducted applied research to create innovative strategies to improve the quality of life of older adults and their families.
The attached infographic created by Katie Turk, a fourth year student in Sheridan’s Bachelor of Illustration program as well as a Research Assistant at SERC, depicts the myriad of reports, conferences, workshops, grants, hiring, and tutoring and mentoring activities that SERC has undertaken to advance the needs and interests of older adults, industry and the community: 10 years at SERC
