
Global Business Degree Students Sweep Inaugural Competition

Three teams of Sheridan students from the Global Business Management degree program brought home all of the awards

Three teams of Sheridan students from the Global Business Management degree program brought home all of the awards from the inaugural Case Competition held last weekend at George Brown College in Toronto. The competition was sponsored by SCL Canada (Supply Chain and Logistics Canada), and featured student teams from Sheridan, Humber College, George Brown, Conestoga College and Grant McKeown University.Sheridan’s award winners included:
First Place – Murad Qureshi, Arpan Dangi, Clar Jingco and Vinaika Mansukhani
Second Place – Julia Sule, Mishka Cooke and Rania Anani
Third Place – Nick Burton, David Boodoo, Gyllena Annandsingh, Vince Agliote

The three Sheridan teams were coached by program Coordinator Chuck Minken, along with faculty Phil Adams and Olga Kaminer. “Our students demonstrated in-depth case analysis capability, strong numerical and written skills, teamwork and very strong presentation skills,” said Minken. “We’re proud of all of them and grateful to the coaches but also to the entire teaching staff that work so hard with all students incorporating the case teaching method throughout our curriculum.”
Sheridan’s Bachelor of Applied Business in Global Business Management prepares students for a career in international business leadership. Business is increasingly conducted within a global framework. This four-year degree program presents concepts central to the traditional BBA and B.Com degree programs in a global framework, strengthening their value to both students and employers. Key areas of focus include: international marketing; international supply chain management including purchasing, transportation, distribution and logistics; international finance; strategic management; and cross-cultural communications skills.
