Join us for a conversation with Sheridan grad, transgender advocate, singer, stand-up comedian, and author of Just Call Me Lady, Mandy Goodhandy, Music Theatre ‘75.
Mandy will take us on an inspiring journey of discovery and survival as she shares her story - growing up from a little boy born in Scotland, to becoming a successful Toronto club owner and Canada’s first transgender woman stand-up comedian.
The talk will be filled with honesty, humour and messages of hope to young transgender and queer people.

More about Mandy:
Mandy Goodhandy is a trans woman comedian, singer and author. She graduated from Sheridan College two-year business course in 1974. Then she was a graduate of the Sheridan Musical Theatre program in 1976. She recently released her first music cd and book both titled "Just Call Me Lady", She has been living as a transgender woman for over twenty-five years. She enjoys bringing her unique brand of comedy to the mainstream. She has appeared at the Absolute Comedy club, The Comedy bar and Yuk Yuk’s in Toronto. She was also the first Canadian Trans woman to be accepted to participate in SheDot, Toronto’s Festival of funny woman 2015 & 2016.
She was the first transgender woman to be accepted to sing in the Toronto Jazz Festival 2016.
She has since performed at many venues in Toronto as a cabaret artist. Currently she is also an entertainment booking agent for live entertainment venues.
