Akil McKenzie is a director, producer, cinematographer, editor, public speaker, and poetic artist. He founded his own production company, Falling Motion, and is passionate about creating films that call for an end to racial injustice. His film, Historians, is an award-winning piece that poignantly captures anti-Black racism and honours the Black men and women who have fallen to violence. It has received accolades from film festivals around the world. He also works to create content for advocacy groups, and mentors current film and television students to support underrepresented voices in the media industry.
