Academic Upgrading

Missing requirements? Whether you need to complete required courses, upgrade marks from high school or prepare for college entry as a mature student, Sheridan’s Academic Upgrading Program gives you the skills needed to enter a college program or improve your job prospects. This program is recognized by all colleges in Ontario and is personalized to meet your specific educational needs.

Online Courses

Sheridan offers more than 200 courses online, allowing you to study when and where it's most convenient for you.

Sheridan Online Credit Transfer

Through our innovative online Advanced Standing process you may be able to transfer credits earned elsewhere to your Sheridan program of study.

Once you have applied and paid your fees, you can access myPathways, an online service that enables Sheridan students to see what previous learning credits can be applied to their current program of study.

Sheridan Transfer (Articulation) Agreements

Once you become a Sheridan student, you can take advantage of our partnerships with universities and colleges from around the world. Remember that a Sheridan diploma may lead to admission into university degree programs. You may also be able to get credit for some of your Sheridan courses if you decide to continue your studies at another institution.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) can earn you credit toward a Sheridan credential based on your previous education and applicable workplace experience.

Graduate Certificates

Consider enhancing your postsecondary credential by taking a post-graduate program at Sheridan. Our Ontario College Graduate Certificates offer a time-efficient way of developing industry-specific skills and adding a valuable credential to your academic resume.

Career Planning/Employment Outcomes

Sheridan offers in-person workshops using self-directed online tools developed at Sheridan and one- on-one advising with our Student Recruitment Advisors as well, to help you explore career options and find programs best suited to you.

Once you become a Sheridan student, the Career Centre has staff and resources to identify your areas of interest and get ready to find employment or perhaps plan for further studies. You can choose to see an Employment Consultant or Career Counsellor in person, attend a career education event or access our online resources to get you started.

Skilled Trades

Sheridan’s Skilled Trades courses offer college level study with practical hands-on apprenticeship experience across a wealth of subjects including but not limited to electrician pre-trades, mechanical techniques, tool and die making, welding techniques and more. Sheridan skilled trades programs offer the opportunity to tackle real-world challenges and develop job-specific skills. The opportunities are endless!
