Sheridan is realigning the administration of our academic Faculties.

This includes redistributing the current Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHASS) programming across three of our other Faculties: the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design, the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies, and the Pilon School of Business.

Moving forward, Sheridan will operate with four Faculties:

  • The Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design
  • The Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies
  • The Faculty of Applied Science and Technology
  • The Pilon School of Business

The image below outlines how our programs and courses are being integrated. There are no changes to programs, courses, or credentials as a result of this realignment. Humanities and social sciences remain an important part of Sheridan’s course offerings and the student experience.

FHASS Academic Administrative Realignment

What this means for students
  • Program, classes, credentials and schedules stay the same
  • Students in Creative Writing & Publishing, English for Academic Purposes, Pre-Health Sciences, and General Arts & Science programs will have a new Faculty administration and Dean supporting them
  • Students will graduate under their new Faculty

There are no changes to the application process for prospective students. Applications continue to be organized by program, not by Faculty.

We are continuing to reflect this change across our system and our website over the coming days.

Our commitment to what defines Sheridan

Creativity, critical thinking, and strong communication skills have always defined a Sheridan education. Humanities and creative disciplines remain a core part of our identity. This curriculum is now more directly connected across programs and will continue to be an integral component of the learning environment at Sheridan.
