The Randy Pilon Story

Randy Pilon is an accomplished business leader and entrepreneur whose contribution of $2.5 million in support of Sheridan is the largest personal donation in the college's history.

A 1982 graduate of Sheridan’s business program, Randy credits his time at the college with laying the foundation for his success in both the corporate world and later as an entrepreneur. After graduating from Sheridan, Randy joined Bausch & Lomb, where he rose through the ranks to become the company’s youngest Vice President. In 1998, he founded Virox Technologies Inc., which is today recognized as a global leader in hydrogen peroxide-based infection control products.

Randy completed the Queen’s University Executive program in 1995. After launching Virox, he went on to obtain his MBA from the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management, where he won the coveted ‘You Speak We Listen Award’, voted anonymously by faculty and students for the student who brings the most value to the classroom. He was inducted into the Sheridan Alumni Business Hall of Fame in 2006.

A committed mentor to aspiring entrepreneurs, Randy sponsors the annual Virox Future Forum at Sheridan. Founded in 2008, the Forum offers business students with an entrepreneurial drive the opportunity to interact with a panel of top industry leaders.

Randy's decision to present this generous gift to Sheridan was made in consultation with his wife and three children. The Pilon School of Business is named in the family’s honour.
