Growing up with a passion for mathematics education, Heather completed her Bachelor of Mathematics (University of Waterloo) and Bachelor of Education (Queen’s University). She starting her career teaching high school mathematics and computer science, and in 2002, began teaching at Sheridan College.
Heather has taught various courses, including Business Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, and Business Communications. Heather most enjoys making a connection with her students and witnessing the chemistry that evolves by breaking down the barriers they have with mathematics. She endeavours to demonstrate how the subject matter applies to their studies, as well as its every day applications.
In addition to teaching at Sheridan, Heather tutors high school mathematics, and operated a tutoring business, where she co-ordinated up to 20 tutors, which allowed her to connect with other educators and families in her community.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys early-morning brisk walks, yoga, and family time.
