Bernard Bourret

Film and television producer Bernard Bourret commands an exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge in finance and production management and brings that expertise to his projects.  In addition to his ongoing work as a tax credit analyst, he gained recognition by Harvard University as an educator, demonstrating his commitment to sharing his creative industry knowledge and experience with the next generation of creators. 

Bourret has worked as senior producer and as a senior industry executive, managing, line producing and overseeing over 375 hours of broadcast television series, MOWs and feature films shot across Canada, Europe and Los Angeles.  His extensive credits include work with TriStar, Alliance, Paramount, UPN, HBO, ABC, Lifetime, Discovery Kids USA, YTV, Nickelodeon Australia, Disney Europe, TVO, Radio-Quebec, M6 and Pro-Sieben.  He produced the multiple award-winning family feature film, Virginia’s Run, and has been brought in to recover and realign production on two US primetime television drama series.

Versatility is a hallmark of Bourret’s producing work.  He is bilingual, fully services both theatrical and television productions and is sought-after for his understanding of all financial information required to trigger financing.  He is fully conversant with the Canadian tax credit system - including all provincial variations - as well as particulars of some US States’ initiatives, in addition to having personal relationships with Canadian banks, gap lenders, insurance brokers, guarantors, production crews and service producers across the country.  He is a member of the DGC and has served as jury and jury chair on multiple industry awards.
