Ellen Eunyung Park is a part-time instructor in the ESL Department. She has an M.Ed. in English Language Teaching from the University of Manchester in Manchester, UK and a B.A.in Journalism from Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea. Her areas of interests include assessment and learner autonomy. She has worked as the editor of the newsletter of B.C. TEAL (Teaching English as an Alternate Language) in Vancouver, BC as well as the newsletter editor of KOTESOL (Korea TESOL) in Seoul, Korea. In both organizations, she gave several presentations about assessment and utilizing multiple intelligences theory in the classroom. As well, she has written and co-written several textbooks published for young learners in South Korea. Besides this, she has led a team of developers working on audio-video content for an internet-based "edutainment" site for learners of English. She is currently working on adapting recent brain research findings for the adult ESL classroom.
