Cathy graduated from Sheridan’s Correctional Worker Program (now the Community and Justice Services Program) in 1990 and began her career as a Correctional Officer at the Vanier Centre for Women.  In 1997, she became an Operational Manager at Vanier.  In 2003, Cathy became an acting Superintendent of the Invictus Youth Centre.  At this point, she also started working on her undergraduate degree in Adult Education and graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education in 2006.  Cathy moved to the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre and ran the youth units there as a Deputy Superintendent.  In 2008, she graduated from Boston University with a Master of Criminal Justice and began teaching at Sheridan College in the program that she had graduated from in 1990.
