Victoria McGlynn was drawn to the Arts when she began taking Cultural Studies courses at Trent University focusing on film, music, theatre and literature. Making short documentaries for assignments, in place of written papers, she soon fell in love with the storytelling process of pictures editing and pursued formal editing training once she graduated from Trent.

In 2003, she enrolled at Sheridan College in the Advanced Film and Television post-graduate program. While she was at Sheridan she had the opportunity to be an assistant editor in the evenings for a small television production company in Toronto. She quickly became a valuable player and was hired upon graduation. She worked her way up from being an assistant editor on a lifestyle show, to becoming an assembly editor and post-production supervisor on two simultaneously lifestyle shows.

Victoria McGlynn has worked for over 10 production companies, within the Toronto film and television industry since 2004, on shows such as Property Brothers, Designer Guys, Meteor & the Might Monster Trucks, Rich Bride Poor Groom and Endless Yard Sale Showdown.

Victoria is a picture editor member of the DGC (Director’s Guild of Canada) and an associate member of the CCE (Canadian Cinema Editors). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Creative and Media in Education from Bournemouth University, UK. She has been teaching editing since 2011 in programs such as New Media Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Graphic Design and BA Film and Television. Victoria is passionate about the art of editing and enjoys sharing her knowledge of storytelling with her students.
