Up to $2,000.00 per year for the first two years of an apprenticeship

Incentive Details
Apprenticeship Employer Signing Bonus (AESB)
- $2,000.00 (2 payments of $1,000.00)
  • For employers who hire, register and train apprentices according to Employment Ontario Employment Services Job Matching, Placements and Incentives Program
  • Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit (Provincial)
    – Up to $40,000.00 - http://www.rev.gov.on.ca/en/credit/attc/
  • Taxable tax credit: employers can receive 35%
    - 45% of apprentice’s wage, benefits, etc. up to $10,000 per year for the first four years of the apprenticeship
  • Co-operative Education Tax Credit
    - $3,000.00 max per student per work term
  • A Refundable tax credit available to employers operating an unincorporated business who hire students enrolled in a university/college co operative education
  • Employment Ontario Employment Services
    - $5,000.00 max
  • Training incentive dependent upon duration of apprenticeship placement, experience of hired apprentice and complexity of training.
  • OYAP: Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program
  • Employers can have students as an apprentice while they are still in high school (as early as Garde 11). OYAP students are exempt from ratio while on placement.
  • Tradesperson Tool Deduction –
    Up to $500.00 yearly
  • Apprentices and Journeyperson can write off one half of their yearly tool purchases which total up to $1,000.00 (write off up to $500.00)
